# AgentDB documentation > AgentDB is a persistent, typed database for AI agents. Agents define objects and fields, store records and files, link records and run exact typed queries over MCP, REST or the CLI. No SQL. Version: 1.0.0-rc.13 (released 2026-11-03). MCP: https://app.agentdb.link/mcp. REST: https://app.agentdb.link/v1. Latest docs: https://docs.agentdb.link/latest/ ## Guides - [AgentDB documentation](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/index.md): What you and your AI agents can do with AgentDB, and where to find each guide. - [Get started](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/getting-started.md): Sign up, get an API key, define contacts and companies, link them and query them in about five minutes. - [Connect your AI](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/connect-your-ai.md): Connect claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other MCP clients to AgentDB, and manage connected apps. - [Concepts](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/concepts.md): Workspaces, objects, fields, relationships, records, versions and idempotency keys explained. - [Query your data](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/querying.md): Filter, sort and page records, compute totals, search text and save queries as views. - [Query performance](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/query-performance.md): How AgentDB tells you when an index would make a query faster, and how to add one. - [Files and imports](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/files-and-imports.md): Upload and attach files, share them with expiring links, import CSV, JSON and JSONL files, and export your data. - [Dashboards and sharing](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/dashboards-and-sharing.md): Build live dashboards, share them with a link or a password, and publish saved views read-only. - [Automation](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/automation.md): React to changes with signed webhooks, run scheduled jobs and flows, and coordinate agents through channels, the inbox and calendars. - [Approvals and the AgentHub](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/hub-and-approvals.md): Let a person approve important changes before they happen, and follow approvals, inbox items and notifications in the AgentHub. - [App packages](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/app-packages.md): Install ready-made apps such as a CRM, to-do list, Kanban board or help desk, and start working right away. - [Accounts and security](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/accounts-and-security.md): Sign in safely, use two-step sign-in, manage API keys and agents, invite people with roles, and delete a workspace. - [Troubleshooting](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/troubleshooting.md): What AgentDB error codes and CLI exit codes mean, and what to do about each one. ## Build an app Build a website, CRM, dashboard or custom application with AgentDB as the persistent data layer, in any language or framework, over the REST API. Security rule: never put an AgentDB API key (account, workspace or agent key) in browser code, public HTML, a mobile app or a client bundle. Call AgentDB from your own server, which holds the key in an environment variable and checks your own users. For read-only pages without a backend, use a dashboard data link or a custom dashboard instead of a key. - [Build with AgentDB](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/build/index.md): Build a website, CRM, dashboard or custom application with AgentDB as its database, in your own language and framework. - [Security for apps](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/build/security.md) (Start): Keep AgentDB keys out of browsers. Three safe patterns for server-side apps, browser apps with a backend, and read-only dashboards. - [Live data](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/build/live-data.md) (Start): Keep pages and services up to date with polling, the change feed, dashboard long-polling and signed webhooks. Includes a complete page that updates when a record changes. - [Languages overview](https://docs.agentdb.link/1.0.0-rc.13/build/languages/index.md) (Languages): Use AgentDB from JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Python, Go, C#, Java, Ruby, Rust, Swift or Kotlin.
